Strategy Director (Remote)

This is a Contract-Staffs position in Vancouver, BC posted January 29, 2023.

Within these teams, members of our Strategy group help to bring focus and direction, ensuring the work we produce is supported by principles, delivering on the needs and expectations of both end users and the business.

As Strategy Director, you’ll lead teams through research, concepting, and ideation to develop innovative digital solutions based on insights.

You’ll guide clients towards new opportunities to strengthen the brand and drive growth across digital channels.

Through collaboration, you’ll establish the agency as a trusted partner in defining transformative digital experiences.

You’ll stay informed and close to culture and trends, from brand to business model innovation, from startup to enterprise.

Your understanding of all things e-commerce, direct-to-consumer, and the unbundling of legacy business will help guide the work you lead and the solutions you present as authentic, insightful, and innovative.

This role is open to remote candidates with preference for Toronto or NYC.

What You’ll Do Define the approach and methodology for your engagements Develop briefs, requirements, project plans, and product roadmaps Guide teams towards a clear understanding of our clients, their business, and objectives Lead and direct teams through the concepting and ideation process Plan and lead research efforts and analyze and distill findings into actionable insights Engage client-side stakeholders through workshops, presentations, reviews, and pitches Manage, lead, recruit, and mentor Strategy team colleagues Work with VP Strategy to continually improve and refine capabilities and approaches Contribute to agency marketing, thought leadership, and events What You’ll Bring 8 years experience in the digital agency, startup, or consulting space with 2 years experience managing and leading teams A strong portfolio demonstrating skill, craft, thinking, and expertise Deep knowledge of digital platforms, devices, and technologies with specific focus on web, mobile, e-commerce, and digital in-store Experience across brand strategy, product strategy, service design, journey mapping, user experience, content strategy, information architecture, and interaction design Experience developing qualitative and quantitative research plans, facilitating studies, and distilling insights Experience engaging clients and leading workshops with senior to C-level level stakeholders Strength in presenting, persuading, and selling through ideas to small and large audiences BA/MBA preferred but not required Ability to work within PST and EST time zone work hours About Engine Digital At Engine Digital, we believe modern business is driven by a focus on the customer and built upon exceptional brand experiences, seamless digital commerce, and frictionless services.
