Location: This role is open to remote employees within Canada The opportunity Daylight is looking for a Lead Technical Consultant to join our team This is an opportunity to navigate technical challenges within our emerging SaaS platform, while partnering with one of our largest enterprise clients.
As a Lead Technical Consultant, you will drive and oversee the technical delivery while acting as a subject matter expert on both domain and product knowledge.
This is a high impact role where you will be responsible for driving and bringing new and existing projects to life.
As a Lead Technical Consultant, you will: Own the delivery of projects using the Daylight platform.
Evaluate the existing state of the systems in place, including pain points, intended optimizations and goals – leverage that understanding into well-designed and architected solutions using the Daylight platform.
Own accountability for the technical design and delivery of the solution by way of an agile methodology that engages client stakeholders at regular intervals.
Be a trusted advisor and engage with clients in areas such as business process design, redesign, process improvement and change management.
Develop a discovery strategy to define project scope and design to kickoff the implementation.
Lead meetings, set agendas and ensure objectives are met.
Clearly articulate, document, and present business needs, solution objectives, and requirements in the right language for the appropriate audience.
Translate requirements to junior consultants while overseeing the development/build phase/s and provide mentorship and expertise as needed.
Test solutions to ensure client needs and project objectives are met, as well as reviewing the solution design for adherence to best practices.
Design and build new tooling as required to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Conduct internal enablement sessions to up-skill the DCS (Daylight Consultant Services) team in domain, product and other relevant knowledge.
What you will bring to the team: The experience.
5 years implementing enterprise cloud solutions into complex environments.
3 years of hands-on software development experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of formal implementation methodology with practical experience in SCRUM.
Strong technical skills.
HTML, JS, CSS SSO (SAML, OIDC) CSPs and browser security model (e.g.
iFrame sandboxing) The ability to work with, interrogate and isolate behaviour of 3rd party apis (e.g.
Postman / Swagger) Has tools and patterns for working with and manipulating json (e.g.
jq) Comfortable querying and writing data to MongoDBs Excellent problem solving and triaging skills.
You are an innovative critical-thinker, who finds it exciting to resolve technical and business problems in creative ways.
Comfortable diving into platform source code to understand limitations and develop workarounds and can send PRs to engineering teams to reduce common pain.
Can determine if issue is form level, a platform bug or a platform outage.
Can prescribe and execute workarounds for platform bugs.
Able to reproduce platform defects quickly and precisely.
Able to walk clients through Platform outage RCAs / incident reports.
Contributes to and enforces best-practices around integrating the Daylight platform with a client’s Enterprise Architecture (aka solution architecture).
Can coach and enable teams (both internal and external) on topics like best practices, solution design.
Strong client-management skills.
You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills and respond to clients in a professional and timely manner.
You are able to accurately report on the status of projects, manage expectations and set boundaries when timelines may not be feasible.
The desire to build and adapt.
You can adapt quickly, innovate solutions and embrace the new while accepting the ambiguous.
You consider yourself to be self-sufficient – when you see an opportunity, you’ll find a way to make it work.
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Development, Business Administration, Economics, a related field or comparable professional experience.
