Petersburg, FL Job Description: We are currently seeking an Engineering Excellence Manager to lead the CAS Engineering Excellence team in support of the design and development of avionics, flight simulation systems and data analytics.

The manager will provide leadership and guidance in all aspects of personnel and skillset development as well as planning and execution on related engineering developments.

This director will need to work with limited written and verbal direction, monitor and direct the work operations of team members.

Essential Functions: Lead, guide, and develop a team of support engineers engaged in the following activities: Create, improve/update and implement the engineering functional department processes Drives standardization and continuity of design and development processes by utilizing best practices and continuous improvement Ensure consistent application of standard engineering tools and metrics Own Engineering Continuous Improvement activities including Kaizen event leadership Drive best practices across the organization including Root Cause / DMAIC / Lessons Learned Provide continued focus on reproducible baselines of internal and external engineering artifacts Support L3Harris policy and procedures for Export Compliance through justification and classification requirements within engineering Lead, monitor and manage the partnerships with contracting and purchased services for engineering services through project management and metrics Drive continuous improvement and updates for engineering critical tools while partnering with IT to drive execution within policy Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience, including leadership/management experience.

Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills: Prefer experience in avionics product development where regulatory compliance (DO-178, DO-254, ARP
– 4754, FAA certifications) is integral to development processes.

A solid understanding of avionics development and their associated processes is required Leadership in a formal Continuous Improvement environment – including Lean and Kaizen event leadership Advanced MS Office suite knowledge, including SharePoint, PowerBI, etc.
