Groundworks is seeking a full-time, Search Engine Optimization Specialist to join our digital marketing team. As Groundworks’s SEO Specialist, you will drive lead generation, brand awareness, and organic ranking improvements via organic client acquisition tactics for 22+ digital properties under the Groundworks umbrella. Leveraging strategies in search engine marketing and growth techniques, the candidate will regularly optimize the Groundworks websites, profiles, content, and linking structures to help achieve department and company goals.
The SEO Specialist will be responsible for managing all SEO activities such as keyword strategy, content strategy and link building to increase organic search rankings and drive search traffic from Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines.

What You’ll Do:
Execute and improve all organic search tactics and rankings for Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.
Optimize copy and landing pages for maximum organic exposure and conversions while maintaining engaging targeted content
Analyze web analytics to drive insights and data-driven content optimization recommendations
Perform ongoing keyword expansion including identification and implementation of keyword opportunities
Edit, research, write and optimize pages for SEO staying true to brandings standards
Stay up-to-date with search engine updates to identify and implement contemporary, SEO-driven strategies
Work with the front-end developer to ensure the website conforms to usability and mobility standards
Perform site audits and work with the development team ensure all back end functionality (3XX, 4XX, 5XX, etc.)
Execute link building and link profile management activities, including opening accounts, outreach, relationship building, etc.
Collect and analyze data to identify trends and insights to achieve maximum ROI in organic campaigns
Research and analyze the competition and competitor websites
Work with content and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and promotion
Develop an in-depth content strategy based on keyword and market research
Optimizing agency-produced content for SEO
Preparing detailed analytics and strategy reports
Work closely with social media team to align social distribution and SEO efforts
Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related fields
2+ years of experience in digital marketing and SEO
Excellent understanding of digital marketing principles, strategies, and best practices
Synergized understanding of other forms of digital marketing including content marketing, PPC, conversion optimization, landing page optimization, paid marketing, re-targeting, etc.
Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and organic customer acquisition
Prior experience in content marketing, content growth, and SEO
Working knowledge of search engine optimization practices
Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically, and identify and resolve problems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work within a team and independently
Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
In-depth experience with website analytics tools Including Google Analytics, SEMrush, etc.
Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
Familiarity with content management systems (e.g, WordPress, Vignette)
Adobe Photoshop experience
Google AdWords experience
Front-end development experience
