Senior C++ Engineer – Remote

You will lead a small engineering team on a long term R&D project as part of a large government program. This involves work on helping the prime contractor with systems, applications, testing, and evaluation of AR/VR systems in wireless environments. This work will be done in a wide array of languages, technologies, and environments, including C++, Unity (C#), Windows, Linux, Docker, and Android/CloudXR. As a lead, you will be responsible for the overall architecture of the program, the management of system development, and the technical communication and coordination between our team and peers on the program. You will be responsible for integrating specialist-generated software from other team members into the wider system. You will also provide input on product schedules, task estimates, and identifying technical risks and mitigations. It is expected that you write robust, readable, well-documented, and efficient code, and ensure that other members of the team do so. As a lead, you must be a coach and mentor that can provide code and suggestions for other team members, fostering education and growth.

Requirements

• 10+ years professional programming experience.
• Experience building large scale systems, including designing interfaces and integrating third parties.
• Experience with consumer level technologies, including mobile and gaming based systems.
• Experience with a wide variety of technology platforms and languages.
• Experience shipping and maintaining complex systems.
• Proficient in scoping, planning, and execution of long term engineering projects, including cloud architecture.
• Experience with common engineering tools and Devops principles (eg.; Github, Jira, Perforce)

Nice to Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Some experience with R&D projects and Testing & Evaluation.
• Experience working with distributed or real time networking systems.
• Experience with Government systems, including fielding systems for DoD use.
