Need Loan Forgiveness?# We are approved for the U.S. Rural Loan Forgiveness Program. # Job Summary: # The RN / Surgical First Scrub delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. # The RN / Surgical First Scrub works as a member of the surgical team#and must possess knowledge and skills in sterile#and aseptic technique. Surgical First Scrubs must anticipate the surgeons next move to facilitate a smooth and efficient procedure. They must have knowledge of a vast number of surgical procedures and the steps the surgeon needs to take to complete the procedure including the very wide range of surgical instruments they may need. Specialties can include but are not limited to the following-gu/gyn, urology, ENT, plastics, general, orthopedics, spine, and cardiovascular. The RN / Surgical First Scrub utilizes instruments, medications,and other supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure if experience permits. Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning. Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use. Requirements: ASN degree required; BSN degree preferred. Current Alabama Nursing license in good standing required. One year OR Circulating experience preferred; Scrub experience a plus. Must have BLS certification within 90 days of hire
