Description:

inPowered is seeking a brilliant engineer to hands-on lead one of our back-end engineering team. The candidate will own the delivery of back-end initiatives. Will work closely with our CTO and the Machine Learning Leader to design and implement new systems, maintain operations of the production systems, and coordinate work across some of the initiatives of the Engineering team. The candidate will operate in a distributed architecture building the infrastructure to manage Big Data and solve complex algorithmic problems. Will maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization’s technologies and architectures. Will develop and enforce best practices for master data management and development. Will act as the focal point for his team. The ideal candidate is a passionate developer with significant experience in designing and building complex systems. Capable of providing extraordinary output in terms of quantity and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Own the delivery of back-end optimization initiatives
• Provide technical guidance and lead code reviews to drive the team to the highest standards
• Find the best solutions among both back-end and Machine Learning teams
• Autonomously develop and deliver key new features for our back-end systems
• Improve performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and flexibility of our back-end systems
• Deliver code in an agile team environment
• Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in Java
• Ability to work independently and with teams
• Experience with Service Oriented Architectures
• Solid experience with both SQL and No-SQL databases
• Experience with unit test frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and TestNG
• Experience with ETL tools and solutions (such as Kafka and Apache Airflow)
• Experience in setting up Big Data and data processing infrastructure (with tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra)
• Bonus points if experienced with Math and Statistics solutions
• Bonus points if Experienced with AdTech companies
• Familiarity with AWS and Docker
• Strong analytical skills
