Job Details

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the development and integration of generators into Class 8 truck and other possible applications. This full-time position offers the opportunity to be a part of an exciting team and fast-growing company that is revolutionizing the trucking industry. You will be joining an experienced, innovative team in the engineering of complex electrical systems solutions.

The Electrical Engineer will support the technology development for our generator technology out of West Chester, Ohio.

Essential Functions:

Design and development of electrical sub-systems and components for controlling innovative generator technologies.
Work in a lab environment with hands-on support of system prototypes.
Detailed design of electrical system schematics, wiring harnesses, electrical and control modules.
Identification and support of strategic suppliers to complete critical component designs and procurement.
Development of APQP materials including FMEAs and DVP&Rs.
Demo vehicles build and development including the integration and troubleshooting of advanced electrical systems.
Cost model development and leading cost reduction initiatives.
Responsible for safety and material compliance requirements of electrical system components in demonstrator and commercial applications.
Skills and Experience:

High voltage and low voltage vehicle electrification system design including batteries, motors, inverters, PDUs, and embedded controllers.
Working knowledge of truck (or related mobility application) powertrain, drivetrain, and general under hood packaging.
Ability to read, understand and generate electrical manufacturing documentation to support commercialization needs.
Experience in high voltage and associated safety protocols.
APQP experience including the creation of Boundary Diagrams, FMEAs and DVP&R
Ability to design and troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
Circuit/schematic and PCB design experience using tools such as Altium Designer.
Wire harness design experience using tools such as Zuken Harness Builder.
Experience with electromagnetic compatibility, compliance requirements, and standards.
High volume manufacturing experience for electrical systems including design for cost, manufacturability, service and durability.
Other / Preferred:
Experience in design of automotive communication networks (for example CAN).
High voltage energy storage and battery charging experience
ISO 26262 functional safety experience is a plus.
Willingness to travel: Position may involve travel visiting engineering providers and hardware suppliers (10%).

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
5-10 years of experience in vehicle electrical systems.
Desired Qualifications:

Master’s degree in engineering.
5 years of experience in mobility or industrial applications.
