In this role, The Director, Finance will serve as a link to influence strategic direction of the company by connecting it with financial reality and will play a leadership role in business model development, becoming a trusted business partner to leaders of various business unit.

– President, Finance and Operations , the Director, Finance play s a crucial role in leading our Finance team to success.

We are looking for a collaborative, innovative and organized individual to lead our team, steer finance initiatives and implement new technology and programs to help maximize efficiency in our fast-paced organization.

The Director, Finance will drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.

The Director will retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to take proactive steps to ensure effective operations.

The D irector , F inance is a reliable professional with broad knowledge to all accounting, financial and business principles.

They are a strategic thinker and an effective leader.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING : Prepar e monthly, quarterly, and annual comparative financial statements for IO, OCRI and CBY related entities Manag e cash requirements and preparing monthly cash flow forecasts Working with department and program leaders on annual budgets and quarterly forecasts M aintain an effective internal control framework, creating and improving current policies and processes as required Lead the annual financial and program audits S upervis e and coordinate activities of employees in the Finance department, ensuring that key controls and standard accounting principles are followed Work with the VP, F & O to establish long-range priorities for operations and capital expenditures Advis e management of effects of economic changes on operations Oversee the preparation of the bi-monthly payroll process and e nsur e that payroll is complete and accurate C ommunicate and relat e financial results to non-financial colleagues in manner that they understand and that motivate s and challenge s team to reach their full potential Support key development initiatives by providing high quality support such as cost analysis, make vs.

buy, capital investment and new services goals Set department goals and mentor staff on finance team Implement productivity and value improvements within the finance function to improv e the quality and timeliness of reporting, insight and transaction processing Develop a robust reporting package to inform decision making and strategy development WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or related field Accounting designation (CPA) 10 years of experience in an accounting or finance department 5 years of experience leading teams with strong people management and leadership skills Knowledge of Business Central and Office 365 tools is an asset Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, with emphasis on Canadian accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations Experienc e with budget preparation and financial management Strong process design and implementation skills Strong knowledge of HST and payroll taxes, and guidelines for non-profit organizations Working knowledge of Federal, Provincial Government funding agreements Excellent Excel skills, tech savvy, early adopter of new tools Significant contact with multiple internal program leaders with demanding needs as well as varying levels of budgeting and forecasting experience Written and verbal presentation skills are a requirement Fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and tight deadlines Work experience with a public and open organization with multiple stakeholders in a c hallenging and diverse business environm ent .
